Teach people go to the dashboard of their local grid and look at breakfast and dinner time, to see if they will get a hot meal when there is little or no coal power. Peak demand coincides with little or no solar, depending on the time of year and the latitude.
So far we have had little success in this venture, partly because the power crisis in Australia has been deferred by deindustrialization and partly because we have not got any influencers on board.

I check my grid operator’s dashboard regularly to follow wind trends, but I can’t check solar levels because—after my state has poured billions and billions of dollars into building out grid-scale solar—there isn’t enough of it to separate out from biomass capacity (of all things). After 7 years of funding large “renewable” projects, we have more garbage-burning capacity than we do grid-scale solar.
