Instead of casting light on the climate issue, the authors attempt to provide a blueprint for a “‘coming wave of climate legal action’ for which courts are woefully unprepared.”
The majority of fossil fuel production globally measured in terms of CO2 emissions, is from state-owned or state-controlled entities. The biggest by far is China Coal. Gazprom, Aramco, Iranian Oil and India Coal are other majors producers. So why are these countries not being sued? Is capitalist CO2 far more pernicious that of governments?
This covers the essential scientific issues well. However, from my 4 decades of practising environmental law I also see a lot of legal problems with this litigation from the plaintiffs' side. There has not been much writing about this and often the defendants fail to recognize the legal problems and the plaintiffs can continue to sue.
Always been very disappointed that the Oil Companies have been cowered into accepting the Climate Hoax proposition that man made CO2 has any impact on the “climate.” They have 3.5 years to turn this around.

Very well said. Crisp, to the point, and utterly correct.
